We are excited to invite you to La Clinica’s Virtual Event, Women Forward: a conversation about gender-based violence, health, hope, and justice on September 29th from 11 am - 12:30 pm.
Join us for a lively discussion on how La Clinica conceived Entre Amigas, a women-driven health program addressing gender-based violence, why it matters more than ever right now, and how all women can be active participants in the change forward. A panel discussion followed by interactive Q&A.

Ms. Sol has more than 25 years of public health and direct service provision with underserved communities and Latino immigrants. Prior to her selection as Executive Director in 2018, Ms. Sol served on La Clínica’s leadership team in several roles, including HIV Department Director, where she led HIV Prevention and Care programs, and Chief Programs Officer, where she was responsible for the overall strategic direction and integration of programs. Ms. Sol received a Master in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s from Georgetown University.
A social psychologist, popular educator, feminist and activist who arrived to the United States under political asylum because of her work against human trafficking and human rights for LGBTQ people in Central America.
Founder of “Madre Tierra” Feminist organization for Latina women in Virginia. founded in 2004.
Steering Committee President at the Impacto LGBTQ Project, a community-based organization to foster leadership in the LGBT latinx community of northern Virginia to enhance its quality life.in 2019
Live to Give Equity & Justice Fund
Heather Burns retired from paid work in 2007 having concluded a 30 year career as a management consultant for 30 years with Booz Allen Hamilton. Heather led company-wide initiatives to improve diversity in hiring, promote opportunities for women, and take advantage of emerging technologies. Immediately upon retirement, Heather established the Live to Give Equity and Justice Fund so that she could pursue more fully her commitments to social justice and women’s human rights.
The Live to Give Equity & Justice Fund exists to make strategic and catalytic gifts that support community-oriented efforts focused on promoting social justice, equity, and human rights. They seek to promote the power of women as a universal force for promoting the common good and for respecting compassion and equity as universal values.
